19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first trophy for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time coach Cervara.
Now working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents his maiden title after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Victory also means the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 distinct events.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is really nice," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
His defensive approach and regular outbursts on court had led some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour championship, took control to push for a third set.
He defended four initial break points in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
